Melanie Brien granted a Fellowship from the Academy of Finland

Melanie will begin her postdoctoral fellowship in the autumn at Helsinki University.

There she will continue her current work looking at the genetic basis of polymorphic colour in the wood tiger moth. She will be bringing new technology to the lab, including haplotagging sequencing and CRISPR gene editing. She will also be looking at the genetics of more complex traits, such as melanisation patterning and female colouration.
