We are pleased to announce the arrival of postdoctoral researcher Kai Amino from Nagoya University, who will be joining us in Helsinki soon. Kai has received the RCF-JSPS PostDoctoral Fellowship from the Research Council of Finland and will be staying with the group for 12 months.
Kai has previously worked on sexual selection in Drosophila and more recently on variation in butterfly wing patterns using a convolutional neural network as a tool – work that he will also be expanding upon during his time with the EEI group.
