The EEI group wholeheartedly congratulates our former PhD researcher Chiara De Pasqual for winning the 2023 Oikos Finland PhD pf the year prize. Chiara defended her thesis “On the maintenance of intrapopulation genetic variation: the interplay between sexual selection, chemical communication, and fitness in the wood tiger moth (Arctia plantaginis)” in late 2022.
According to the Oikos newsletter “The selection committee was impressed by a large amount of research effort the thesis contained, the novelty of the work in the field of evolutionary ecology, and high quality of first-author publications“.
